Hitachi C10FCB 10-Inch Compound Saw for parts not working

Description

The saw powers up but the parts that operate the blade guard do not work properly.
I removed the blade to see if I could get the saw working.
It looks like the the metal piece that is connected to a bearing, that moves the plastic guard up and down, is bent.
I was able to remove the part that controls the movement of  the guard.
A small spring fell out and the screw that held that part in place are shown in the last picture.
I could not remove the guard because one of the phillips head screws was so tight I stripped the head.
The blade has been replaced but now the guard is just floating.
The power cord is a little over 7 ft long and it has a 3 1/2" section covered with red tape.

4/8/2020: The dust bag and the handle that adjusts the tilt were sold so those parts are not included.
